Listed as a National Historic Landmark, the mansion on the Lighthouse Inn Resort was originally built in 1902 as a summer home for steel industrialist Charles S. Guthrie. The mansion has been converted to a hotel where rooms contain beautiful antiques as well as modern amenities, such as the restaurant, pool, spa and banquet spaces residing on the resort's manicured grounds. Situated northeast of Harkness Memorial State Park, the resort offers scenic views of the Long Island Sound from the mansion and its own private beach along the Connecticut shore.
