Garde Arts Center is a four-building cultural complex where visitors can attend quality orchestra, opera, ballet, concert, theater and musical performances. A wide range of local and national events have occurred there, including Broadway musicals such as "Man of La Mancha," performances by musicians such as Herbie Hancock and Shawn Colvin and the annual London Film Festival which shows contemporary and classic films. The jewel of the complex is the renovated 1,472-seat Garde Theatre, a Moroccan-influenced movie and vaudeville theater built in 1926. Located in the heart of the city, the center is west of the New London-Orient Point Ferry docking station and the Custom House Maritime Museum.
